Let me share with you how I go about being a better version of myself. Just like you, I have to go through plenty of challenges, doubts, and obstacles in order to have some success.

As I’m getting older, I’ve come to learn how to turn my flaws and challenges into the fuel that helps me move forward, stay inspired, and be a better version of myself.

Reflection has been an integral part of my personal and professional growth. Being able to reflect on my daily challenges, failures, and successes has allowed me to become the person I am, but most importantly, be there for others. Reflection, whether on paper or on my Notes or Voice Memos on my iPhone, continues to help me correct my mistakes, overcome my challenges, and live my life more fulfilling. Words come from the pages of my journal; most of these words are from raw, real, unedited personal experiences. My roots, values, morals, and goals continue to be the foundation behind my reflections. Keep in mind I write from the experiences of a Mexican American male, a son, brother, friend, educator, student, immigrant, English Learner, elected official, neighbor, missionary, Catholic, homie, foo, and INSPIRED human being. Important to note, Heber will often write to Alberto and Alberto will often write to Heber.
