Reflection has been an integral part of my personal and professional growth. Being able to reflect on my daily challenges, failures, and successes has allowed me to become the person I am, but most importantly, be there for others. Reflection, whether on paper or on my Notes or Voice Memos on my iPhone, continues to help me correct my mistakes, overcome my challenges, and live my life more fulfilling. Words come from the pages of my journal; most of these words are from raw, real, unedited personal experiences. My roots, values, morals, and goals continue to be the foundation behind my reflections. Keep in mind I write from the experiences of a Mexican American male, a son, brother, friend, educator, student, immigrant, English Learner, elected official, neighbor, missionary, Catholic, homie, foo, and INSPIRED human being. Important to note, Heber will often write to Alberto and Alberto will often write to Heber.
These words, these reflections come straight from, not the bottom of my heart, but my whole heart- including my heartaches.
Wholeheartedly.
